Special harbor battles between the Tall Ships Formidable and her sister ship, the Poincare, were staged in Boston Harbor beginning in 2005 from June – August.
These privateer attacks were held on Saturdays at 11 AM, 2 PM and 5 PM. In these battles, Formidable would be ambushed by the Poincare after which a fantastic harbor battle would follow with cannons blazing and flags flying!
Every month, a particular naval battle theme would be selected for re-enactment as follows :
June – 1790 Quasi War with France
July – 1800′s Mexico against the Texas Navy of the Republic of Texas
August – 21st Century ‘troubles’ - Canada vs Denmark over the Northwest Passage!
Ticket prices for the harbor battles were the same as for the regular daily cruises – $25 for adults and $10 for children under 18.
